Email hello@joinoneblock.com and a person will read it. We aim to reply within two business days.
Tell us your community, and the app version from the bottom of the Settings screen. If it is about something a neighbor posted, say where you saw it. That is usually the difference between an answer today and three emails.
Your signup code
The code says the wrong address. Every code is issued for one specific home and opens only that home, so a code showing an address that is not yours was meant for a neighbor, or was a mistake when your community's list was put together. Whoever manages your HOA or community can issue the correct code for your address. If they cannot, email us with your community and your street address and we will sort it out with them.
Your code does not work. A code stops working the moment it is used, so the usual cause is that someone has already claimed that home. Ask your board whether the code was handed out twice, and ask them to reset the home's code; we can reset it for them.
You lost the card, or it went to the wrong mailbox. Codes have no expiry date, so a card that goes astray stays live until someone replaces it. Tell your board, and have that home's code reset. Do not post, forward, or resell a code: it is the one thing standing between a stranger and your neighbors' addresses and conversations.
Your street is not on OneBlock yet. We are rolling out block by block. Join the waitlist, or if you are on your HOA board, see below.
Reporting content, or a neighbor
There is no in-app report button yet. Until there is, email hello@joinoneblock.com, and we read it. Tell us your community, what you saw, and where in the app you saw it.
We can remove content, remove an account from a community, or terminate an account when our Terms have been broken or when removal is needed to protect residents. We have no obligation to monitor what residents post, and in most cases will not have seen it before someone tells us, so telling us is what starts it.
Your board can also act sooner than we can: board members can delete any content in their own community. What a board decides, though, is the board's own; we do not supervise it. Disagreements about your community's rules belong with your board.
If you believe someone under 18 has an account, or that a child's information has been added to a household by someone with no right to share it, email us and we will remove it.
OneBlock is not an emergency service
The alert feature sends a notification to your street. It is not monitored, by us or by anyone else, and it reaches phones that may be off, silenced, out of battery, or without signal. Delivery is never guaranteed, and an alert cannot be taken back once sent: only a board member can remove one.
In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. Never use OneBlock in place of contacting police, fire, medical services, animal control, or a utility.
Account questions
Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in screen. The link opens a page on this website, so you can finish the reset on a computer if that is easier.
Settings, then Email. Confirm from the link sent to the new address.
Settings, then Notifications. There are four categories: emergency alerts, chat, board, and neighborly activity. All four start on, and your phone's own settings can switch off the lot.
The private profile switch is on your own profile screen. Read what it does and does not do before relying on it: today it changes what the app draws, not what the database hands out.
Your profile, then your household. Anyone you list is visible to every verified resident of your community, so remove anyone you would rather your street did not see.
Deleting your account
In the app: Settings, then "Delete my account." It asks you to type DELETE, and then it is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period and no undo, and we cannot restore an account afterwards.
From the web, without the app, if you have lost your phone or already removed OneBlock: use joinoneblock.com/delete-account. Enter the address on your account and we email you a link; opening it brings you back to a confirmation step. It never asks for your password, and nothing is deleted until you confirm.
If you can no longer get into that inbox, email hello@joinoneblock.com from any address, tell us the address on the account, and we will check it is yours before deleting anything.
Deleting removes your profile, your household, and the things that are yours alone, and puts your home back to unclaimed so your board can issue its code to whoever moves in. A few things your community relies on survive with your name removed, and your chat messages clear on their own fourteen-day clock. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what goes and what stays.
Privacy and your data
The Privacy Policy covers what is collected, who can see it, how long it lasts, and who processes it. Two things worth knowing without reading it: OneBlock never asks for your device's location, and nothing you post in the app is published on the web.
To access, correct, or get a copy of your personal information, email hello@joinoneblock.com. We answer within 45 days wherever you live, and we assemble these by hand today, so give us a little time.
For HOA boards and community managers
Setting a community up, adding or correcting the list of homes, resetting a home's code, and marking someone as a board member all run through us: email hello@joinoneblock.com. Board status is a flag we set at a community's request, and nothing in the app verifies that the person holding it was elected to anything, so we take these requests from the community, not from whoever asks first.
